New eduLARP Guide Released – Learning Through Immersion
The Jugendagentur, a subsidiary of the Jugendstiftung, has recently completed the Erasmus+ project "eduLARP."
LARP (Live Action Role Playing) in general, and eduLARP in particular, allows participants to actively immerse themselves in a story or scenario. This promotes deep and active learning while requiring collaboration, communication, and teamwork. It encourages reacting to unforeseen challenges, fostering creative problem-solving, and taking on different character roles, which promotes empathy. The immersive nature of eduLARP increases participants’ motivation to engage actively in the learning process.
Project Partners and Aim
Since Jugendagentur had limited access to LARPs, they partnered with two expert organisations with extensive experience in the field. Together, they aim to develop innovative learning methods that go beyond traditional teaching approaches and enrich educational experiences by learning from one another.
Nausika (Poland): Designs, promotes, and implements educational games focused on personal development and social transformation.
Waldritter (Germany): Operates nationwide, running a variety of projects that combine adventure games, education, and social learning. Waldritter organises events for children, teenagers, and young adults.
Project Result
Following workshops in Herten (Germany) and Kraków (Poland), as well as many intensive online sessions, the partners completed a year of cooperation and finalised the eduLARP guide. This digital guide contains playable scenarios, basic information about eduLARP, and details about the three organisations involved.
The guide is available in German, English, and Polish, and can be downloaded for free.
